The Ball Gown is the most traditional style of bridal gown, with a fitted bodice and a full skirt. It can be designed as a one-piece or as a separate top and skirt. The structured shape of the Ball Gown is often off-set by fabrics such as organza, taffeta and tulle: the choice of material can change the appearance from structured and heavy to soft and light. It is usually worn with a hooped underskirt, which keeps the skirt out and full.
Consider a Ball Gown if you are slim and have an hour-glass figure - provided your waist is thin. A Ball Gown is also a good choice if you are pear-shaped: try to draw attention to the top half of your body by using a strapless top.
